6000.00 $ Negotiable Hiring: Replace Cabin Porch, Build Stone Columns, Install Railings Colorado Springs
- Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
Hi there,
I originally posted this project a couple of months ago and had someone lined up, but things didn’t work out—so I’m reposting now. If this looks familiar, it’s because it’s the same project, but I’ve got all the details finalized and I’m ready to move forward. I try to reply to everyone, though it’s not always possible. That said, I’ll do my best to respond to anyone who provides a solid response and estimate.
Availability to meet:
I’m available to meet this Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. If those times don’t work, we can arrange something else. The work can begin right away or right after the 4th of July.
Project details:
I need to remove and replace a concrete porch that measures 7' x 21' x 4" on my cabin.
The stone wall under the slab will need to be patched up to support the new slab.
I also need six stone columns built on the porch. Each column will be 16" x 16" x 42".
You'll need to gather loose stone around the cabin so the new columns match the existing stonework.
The log-style railings (already built in 5 prefab sections) are onsite. They have tenon ends and will need to be installed as the stone columns are being built. I’ve attached a photo of a similar railing style.
Location:
The cabin is about 15–20 minutes up the mountain from the Broadmoor Hotel, off Old Stage Road. The road is bumpy but passable in any regular car. I’m unsure if concrete can be delivered to the site—would you be able to mix it onsite?
This is the core of the project. There may be some follow-up items once we get started.
To be considered:
Please include a rough quote for the following:
Porch demolition and replacement
Stone wall repair
Construction of six stone columns (including setting the railings)
Anything you can tell me about your experience or previous work would be great. Let me know if you have any questions. I think I’ve included enough info for a ballpark estimate, and we can discuss the finer details afterward.
Estimated budget (based on typical contractor rates):
Concrete porch demo + replacement: $3,000–$5,300
Stone wall repair: $600–$1,200
Six stone columns with railing installation: $2,400–$3,600
Total ballpark: $6,000–$10,000
